Our intrepid hikers had a great time hiking up to LeConte Lodge just before the Memorial Day holiday.  No matter the weather, it's great fun and good views.  Join us on our next big hike to Charit Creek in September.  Reservations open up on June 3 at 1 PM CT.

We had a nice turnout for our May meeting at Agave's Mexican Restaurant in Belle Meade.  People were excited to talk about our upcoming trips and learn who is planning to attend each trip.  If you couldn't make it to this meeting, be sure to attend next month's meeting as we'll have more details for our trips finalized and excitement will be building for our trip sign-ups in July.  (And congrats to Bill & Suz!)

Did you catch us at the Nashville Outdoor Recreation Festival & Expo at Bells Bend Park on April 13?  We had absolutely perfect weather for the event and had a great time letting folks know about our club.

Our April meeting was at Corner Pub in Brentwood where we elected officers and directors for the upcoming fiscal year.  The folks who went to Whitefish shared their stories as we look forward to an off-season with warm-weather events.

Bill Trainor

Hometown: Pittsburgh - Steeler country!
When did you first join the ski club? Suzanne and I joined last summer, 2023
Ski club offices held: No club office held, just a happy member!
Favorite ski resort? Mount Baker! Woke up one morning in my camper, to waist-deep Pow! 😃

What’s the best trip (traveling wise) you ever had?
I would say one of the trips in my truck camper. When I retired, I had a coast to coast six-plus week trip.  it was spontaneous and not planned out. no timeframe, no itinerary; the perfect retirement gift to myself.  But I’ve had several with my daughter in the Pacific Northwest jet skiing or traveling to ski resorts that to this day put a smile on my face thinking of them.

If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
Sandpoint, Idaho  The beauty and charm of this place is that it has not been fully discovered yet.

What’s your favorite seat on an airplane?
The very front left seat. Assuming no mechanicals, delays or bad weather. Otherwise, in first class with a martini complaining with the best of them!  (ed. note - as a retired pilot of course he wants the best view!)

What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?
Kangaroo in Sydney,  I would not recommend it.

What is your favorite dessert?
Vanilla birthday cake
